Every message you send and receive is encrypted end-to-end and stored exclusively on your device and the recipient's. Nothing touches a server. Nothing gets backed up to the cloud. This means your conversations remain completely private — even if bitchat's servers were compromised (which they can't be, since they don't exist), your messages would still be safe. The same encryption applies to iOS users, so cross-platform chats are equally secure.

Take control of your conversations by creating password-protected channels. By default, you can message anyone in range, but you can restrict channels to specific people only.
